Let´s Get Physical

I kick start my Guatemalan adventures with a 3 week stay in the lakeside village of San Pedro, stunningly positioned by the volcano-ringed Lago de Atitlan, in Guatemala's Highland Region. Looming above the village is the dramatic Volcan San Pedro. It's only day two, and I find myself up at 5am, still trying to shake off the jet lag, waiting for my guiar (local guide), to embark on the 3-4 hour volcano accent. At 3020m, this hike is not for the faint hearted, but you are justly rewarded with incredible panoramic views of the lake and surrounding volcanoes, at the summit. I took the burn out off my aching muscles with a quick soak in San Pedro's thermales pools, just next to the Buddha Bar.
